Hi there.
My name is Murilo Martins (sometimes Muro, sometimes @mu_tron, sorry about that…) - I’m the one totally not doing a Power Ranger cosplay, BTW. I am a comic book artist from Brazil exhibiting on my first MeCAF (Portland) and releasing my new book, a 112-page-self-published-little-beast called “I’m a German Shepherd” - you can click here to see a preview.
This show is the last stop of a crazy trip that started in Brazil and included Stumptown Comics Fest in Portland (Oregon) and TCAF - The Toronto Comic Arts Festival . I’m happy I survived (so far), so stop by my table and I can tell you some stories and talk about my books with my weird brazilian accent, ok?

I’m a German Shepherd is my new graphic novel. I’m releasing a very special and limited edition in 3 comic book conventions in a row: Stumptown, in Portland, OR / TCAF, in Toronto (on may 11 and 12)
…and this weekend, MeCAF, in Portland, ME (on may 19)
Come visit my table!
(I’ll try to post and tweet and everything else, so you can follow me on twitter/instagram - @mu_tron - if you want to know the state of things. You can also take a look at my facebook page and this other tumblr from time to time)
Some stores in San Francisco already have Shepherds: Isotope, the Comic Book Lounge and Mission Comics & Art.
And Khepri Comics might have some copies of LoveHurts, my other book.

I’m a German Shepherd
Self published, 112 pages, color
“Barking long soliloquies in the vast hinterland stands a German Shepherd. The ever zealous breed, a brave specimen, particularly stubborn and stoical optimist. Murilo Martins’ second independent comic book is a tribute to working dogs. But, most of all, it is a fine piece of writing that is able to raise some important questions such as: how do we control our instincts? What if our nemesis is at the same time our genetic ancestor? Reading this short tale of the lonesome life of a German Shepherd will make you happily wag your own tail.”
What I’m bringing to MeCAF - Portland, ME
I loved the wallpaper of my hotel’s room. It’s perfect to show some books and posters and postcards I’m bringing to MeCAF, the last stop of a one-month journey exhibiting in comic conventions through US and Canada.
(I just wanted to be a better photographer, but you can see them live on sunday;)

Posters & Postcards
I have a lot of different posters, in different sizes - there’s even a nice pack of 4 mini posters.

I’m bringing also this postcard set, and some nice rubber-stamped postcards.

Books
On the left, “I’m a German Shepherd” (112 page, colour). It’s my new independent book. I must have 30-something left.

On the right, my other book: LoveHurts (48 pages, B&W and 2 colors details, screen print cover) was released last year at the San Diego Comic Con. All copies are numbered, and I’ve printed only 600. I must have twenty-something left.

That’s it. This is how my table will probably look like, and this is me. Come by to say hi and make fun of my brazilian accent!

See you!

Ok then.
I’m doing this little “world tour” to promote my new book, I’m a German Shepherd. I wanted to make some quick photoset-posts right before the conventions, but I failed miserably. I’m also failing now, in fact. I had this Idea a couple of minutes ago: “Ok, I’m in Portland, Maine, It’s Thursday, MeCAF starts only Saturday, this is the first day in almost a month travelling that I have some time to breath, so let’s post some photos of Stumptown and TCAF! Let’s get the iPhone… Oh, nice, a lot of photos of TCAF. Let’s go back. Ups! Where are the photos of Stumptown?, there’s a lot more, I’m sure… aw, I remember. They’re on the iPad. The iPad I forgot on my friend’s house in San Francisco…”
So, here are some photos of TCAF.
I’ll post the Stumptown photos later - as soon as I rescue my iPad.
